Puppy Love

"And they call it puppy love.." are some of the words from a song sung by Paul Anka many years ago. "Puppy Love" is what we're experiencing at our house since Christmas. Our daughter was given a puppy that she has named Derby. Derby is a cocker spaniel who has won our hearts as a cute and cuddly little fellow. We love to hold him. We love to play with him. We love to watch him. We even love taking him outside to go to the bathroom. Since we gave her Derby, we have to dog sit while our Daughter works. We don't mind doing it since we're the ones who "let the dog in." And in he is, in our hearts, that is. Our son's two dogs are getting use to having Derby following them all around the house. They try to ignore him when he is chewing on their paws, but after awhile, they jump up on the couch so they can sleep. At times we call Derby, Derby Pie. And, most the time when we call Derby, Derby trots on over to where we are. The woman who sold us Derby should have had a sign saying: "WARNING: DERBY IS CONTAGIOUS!" All of us have a real bad case of Puppy Love! I doubt we ever get over it.
