66

My twin turns 66 in 6 weeks. I think he looks like 66 already. I sure hope I don't look
that bad when I turn 66. I want to take a trip on Route 66 for my birthday. I want 66
dollars. I want 66 new books. I want 66 day's away on vacation where it's warm. I want
66 great movies to watch with 66 bags of great popcorn. Most of all, I don't want to look
like my twin brother who turns 66 in 6 weeks. I think I will put my birthday off for 66
more days and see if anyone tells me I sure don't look my age.
The Christmas tree and other Christmas decorations need to be put away before it
turns colder. We have to carry it into the gargage and put it where it won't be in the
way. Or, maybe my wife will want the tree to stay right where it is. We've done that
before and used it for all sorts of celebrations. The biggest was putting the tree out in
the garage finally!
I asked my dear wife if I could take her out for breakfast this morning. She said she
would get back to me. I'm still waiting & I'm still hungry. I want a big breakfast from
a resturant with charm & great food. Somewhere like MacDonald's! Hum-Hum! From
past experience, I'llbe 66 before she tells me what she wants to do. Maybe I'll get a
birthday breakfast!
News Break: we went to Jetter's for breakfast & then to Kroger and I'm still 65. Now
it's nap time right here in river city. I need a 66 minute nap to regain my strength
since I'm almost as old as my old twin brother who will be 66 in 6 weeks. That's 42
days from today. I even remember when I was 42. Do you?

A BOOK ABOUT BOOKS

I gave in yesterday at Barnes & Noble and bought, The Man who Loved Books TooMuch.
I guess it's because I love books too much! This 274 mystery had me from the very first
time I picked it up to read. Day after day, I went to Barnes & Noble just to read a few more
pages from the book with the thought of not puchasing it. But the more I read it, the more
I knew I had to have it. I thought about stealing it. I thought about reading it and leaving
it alone. I thought about it over coffee in the Starbuck Cafe. When I was given a gift card
for Christmas, I knew I had to buy the book.
Now, I want to re-read it with pencil in hand and be able to underscore significant sentencs
from the book. I want to look up some of the books this book about books mentions. I want
to read more about the author and, I want to make sure no one steals my book about stealing.
By the way, while I was at Barnes & Noble yesterday I picked up another new book that I
want to read whenever I go back to Barnes & Noble. Who knows, I just might buy it too.

Sunday Silence

I wanted to sleep in this Sunday morning but was up at 5:00 with two dogs needing to
go oustide. I have two Sunday newspapers to read before getting ready to go to church.
As I've said before, I love the stillness of a Sunday morning before anyone else gets up.
I thought once about staying home this morning an relaxing but I'm going to church as
my way of worship and to thank the God for the greatest gift of all, His son Jesus.
Our daughter played a practical joke on facebook by posting herself by a handsome
young soldier in his uniform and saying she was getting married to him. That young man
is a cousin who was with us yesterday as our family gathered for Christmas. I just hope
the word doesn't get around that she is getting married! Not yet & not to him. Maybe,
just maybe, someone else, someday.
Well, it's time to read the papers and eat breakfast before others get up and the Sunday
silence is gone.

FAMILY, FOOD & FUN

Twenty six of our family met at my twin's house today to celebrate Christmas. While it was
a very long and tiring day, it was a great day to be together. My 85 year step-mother was
with us and kept us all on our toes. We exchanged gag gifts and had laugh after laugh. I got
stuck with something I don't need & don't want to keep. It will be a gift for someone else
some other day.
What I want now is a good night of sleep. Therefore, goodnight from Johnboy
