GOD AND GERALD

"In the beginning...."
While watching the services for former President Gerald Ford Wednesday, I was impressed with what was said about him. I was impressed with the music, the Scriptures, the sermon, and the way God was given a great deal of attention. Often times, God is shoved to the top shelve and left alone until He is needed again some other time, for some other reasons. Not so, today. God seemed to show up in many ways, many times. That's what the Ford family wanted as thanks was given for Gerald Ford's long life and service. Indeed may it be said, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant." My prayer is that you and I seek to serve the Lord and others so that God be glorified as He shows up through what we say and what we do.

Prayer: Thanks for those who go about their daily lives serving You and others. Thanks for all that they do and say. May we serve You, Almighty God, not for our own glory, but for Your's. Now and always. Amen.
