FOLLOW THE LEADER

A few weeks ago while at Barnes and Noble , I read Led to Follow, by J. Howard Olds
and Cal Turner, Jr. I didn't buy the book, I just read it and left it. Then a few days ago
I saw Howard Olds and had him autograph the copy of it I had just bought. He wrote,
"To John, Matthew 4:20, Howard Olds." I started wondering what Matthew 4:20 was
so I took a look in my Bible. It reads, "Immediately they left their nets and followed him."
They were led by the Lord to follow theLord."
A few years ago I attended brunch where Howard Olds shared some thoughts about his
call to ministry. As I sat there I soaked in each and every word he had to say. I knew
then that here was a man called by Christ to follow him and share the good news of the
Gospel. I left being led to go and do likewise.
Howard has always inspired people with the words he speaks but most of all it is the
life he lives that touches so many people. Howard has been fighting cancer off and on
over a number of years. As I live my life with M S, I hope I can follow this leader just
as Howard does.
